Finding a quality photographer that can work on any occassion

Published by under General

Big events don't happen all the time in people's lives.Even most businesses do not experience big events every now and then.That is the reason why people like to document events in any way they can.  When you do you want to make sure you hire a good photographer who can help you catch that moment forever.So here are some tips on finding a great photographer that produce great work in any occassion.

First of all if you have a wedding sometimes it is tough to know who will be a good photographer.  In my San Diego wedding photographer service what I always try to do is show them my portfolio.But photographers have a trick up their sleeves by only showing the best shots that they have.What I instead do is to let them see the last 4 wedding that I have been hired as a photographer. That way they can know that just the best weddings weren't chosen.This would be very helpful for those who are seeking to find a great photographer.

But what if the event that you are having is something like a concert or a big and popular sporting event.If these events only happen once in a blue moon then you really have to find a very good photographer. As a San Diego event photography service I have learned that you will need a creative and an active photographer.  Many things are happening in a big event and you don't need to choose someone who can't keep up.

If you are in the corporate world and you are doing a promotional photo-op then you might want to find someone with a lot of experience in professional photography.  They must understand what a corporate client is looking for.  That is why in my San Diego commercial photographer service I like to show my portfolio to them.  That way they can see I understand the difference between regular photos and commercial.

So there are some tips to help you find a photographer for any occassion.You may realized that different events require different skills.

The Real Beauty of Panoramic Photo Frames

Published by under General

If scenic landscape pictures are something you love, then you probably love panoramic pictures. Panoramic pictures have grown in popularity with the increasing use of panoramic format cameras and the popularity of digital photography. If you're unfamiliar with panoramic pictures, now is the time to start learning why they're so popular and how they can add a new look to your home decorating.
Why are panoramic picture frames so popular among photography enthusiasts?

  • They are a unique way to capture breathtaking vistas and tall landscapes. Now you can take a full picture of the Eiffel tower or the Statue of Liberty or capture an entire cityscape.
  • Their non-standard shape gives an creative touch to your picture wall making your photo stand out. A panoramic picture frame adds a unique dimension to your photo display whether it's displayed by itself or in a group.
  • They are less expensive than having to buy a larger picture frame with a mat to fit the panoramic photo size. Now with panoramic frames widely available you can find exactly what you want without the big expense of having a custom frame made.

Panoramic Picture Basics

There are a three primary ways to take panoramic pictures: a camera using APS film, a digital camera with a panoramic setting or to digitally “stitch” together multiple pictures into a panoramic photo.

Originally, panoramic photos first became popular with film camers using a film called APS (Advanced Photo System). These cameras are still used today and took pictures in specific panoramic sizes. But these days, with the widespread use of digital cameras and the software for image “stitching,” there are no restrictions as to the size of your panoramic picture. Now the limit for panoramic photos comes to framing your picture. The options for framing your panoramic photos are limited to three common sizes of ready made panoramic picture frames. The sizes are 3.5x10, 4x12 and 4x10. Ready made frames are most popular because they're significantly less expensive than custom picture frames.

Ready made panoramic frame styles are usually simple with clean lines and are available in either metal or wood frames. Wood panoramic frames are generally more popular because they're available in a large variety of stained colors so you can better highlight tones in your photo. The wide variety of colors and the classic simple style of panoramic frames complements almost any decor and will add a new dimension to your photo displays.

Even though the availability of APS film is diminishing, that doesn’t mean panoramic pictures are going away. With the immense popularity of digital photography, panoramic pictures and panoramic frames will be around for a long time. So keep capturing those beautiful panoramic vistas and have fun creating a truly unique photo display by mixing in the eye catching look of panoramic picture frames.

How To Shoot Truly Artistc Glamour Images

Published by under General

Human body has always been a popular theme to depict in fine arts. However, it's far from easy to shoot aesthetically flawless pictures without falling into banality - so how can the latter be avoided? Let us see in which way glamour photography can make it happen.

Nude photographs first of all serves an artistic purpose, and so it is meant to create an appropriate impression - that of aesthetics rather than "oh, what a pretty lass!" kind of rapture. However bold they may appear, the chief goal of a good nude portrait is to evoke thoughts and deliver spiritual pleasure. Enough talk of abstract matters - we need some practical knowledge!

I offer you 7 useful tips that will help you take off into the world of nude Glamour Images with some knowledge of the subject and, hopefully, great motivation.

  • Balancing artistry and vulgarity is a must: you don’t want the latter, you want the former. Accentuate the natural curves of model's body, nuances of texture, light and shadow - great nude photos emerge out of these visual trifles. Displaying too intimate details should be avoided - people usually feel uncomfortable when staring at someone's genitals. Rely on your artistic taste to decide what will look great and what should be avoided - it is a more reliable criterion than strict rules of glamour photography;
  • Unless you're shooting a naked pirate, don't succumb to the temptation of dressing up your model in pricely tokens: nude photography is about a human body, not jewelry and fancy trinkets. To create an impression of glamour and elegance, you only need something pretty and sophisticated to complement the composition - but not to draw the viewer's attention away from your model;
  • For practical purposes one should always avoid using so-called "hot lights" in a studio. At all times, cold lights are more appropriate - for the sake of saving electric power, not sweating like a pig and having more space for creativity. You would also want to obtain some soft-boxes to get more diffused light. Frankly speaking, subtler light is preferable for glamour nudes, as it usually makes the images more erotic and sensual;
  • Watch out for the proportions: shooting from too high or too low might make your model look either a long-legged giraffe or a humpty-dumpty. You don’t want any of that, do you?
  • Be creative. To break the limits and stereotypes, combine and try different approaches, styles and techniques - the outcome may be truly astounding;
  • Take as many shots as possible, will you? Seriously, you want as many photos as possible, in order to be able to choose from a vast selection of captions. No good photographer takes less than a thousand of pictures per session - just to have a vast choice;
  • Establish a connection with your model. She is not a "main character" of your shots, but the one who plays a vital part in the process. Your model is the second most important person behind the creative activity - if not the first. If your model feels uncomfortable, you won’t get anywhere – even if you’re Helmut Newton!

It's never a piece of cake to be a nude portraitist, nor is to shoot Glamourous Photography. However, anything is doable if you don't give up. Remember – a journey of thousand miles begins with one step! Or, in our glamour photographers’ case – with one flash.

Make sure you don’t lose those once in a lifetime moments

Published by under General

There are always great events in everybody's lives.Of course there is weddings, births, graduations, and a lot more.  One of the things you don't want to do is just let those be memories. With how wonderful cameras are you want to make sure you are able to capture those moments forever.  So here are some tips to make sure you do capture those moments with photography forever.

First of all you don't need to hire a professional for all these great moments. But a professional of course is always preferred for those big events. Of course you would hire a professional on big occasions like weddings.  That is why as a San Diego wedding photographer my service stays busy.Because it is such a special event you need a professional to take those shots and make them perfect.

Of course there are those moments like the birth of a child. Now of course in the hospital room you wouldn't need a professional photographer to take a shot. But in those first few days you might want to hire one to take photos.  As a San Diego photographer my company gets hired to take newborn photos all the time.Those are some of the most significant events so hiring a professional makes a lot of sense.

Finally there are great moments like graduations.  This is something that you can probably do yourself.  But it doesn't hurt to hire a professional either.  As a San Diego event photography service we do graduations all the time.And people hire us most of the time because they need memorable shots. Plus they need to take pleasure in the occasion rather have to make sure to capture photos.

As you can see there are many important moments in life.  And as you can see using photography is one of the best ways to remember them forever. Because not only will you remember them, but with photos you will also be able to see them. That is something that is worth every penny.

How to support a photographer in capturing perfect photos

Published by under General

One thing we want when we hire a photographer is someone who knows how to take great photos.But one thing that gets overlooked is the mere fact that if you are the subject of the photo you can definitely help.  In other words unless your photographer is a world class fashion photographer you can help.  So here are some tips on helping a photographer take great shots.

To get beautified is the very first tip.By this, what do I mean? For the photo shoot simply make yourself look at your very best.  Obviously as a San Diego wedding photographer it is easy because most people will be at their best.  But if it isn't a wedding you can get nice make up.  Or you can get nice clothes and your hair done.In other words if you look good it definitely makes it easier for the photographer to make you look at your best.

The next thing you can do is practice.Just like well known fashion models need to practice their creative poses in front of a mirror.  If you know you are going to be a subject of photos practice your poses as well.  Knowing what kind of shots you will be taking will help.  That is why as a San Diego commercial photographer service I always let my subjects know what types of photos I will be taking.

Finally you absolutely need to relax when you are getting any type of pictures taken.  It could be some big event, but if you are not relaxed you won't look good in the photos.  That is why as a San Diego event photography service my goal is to let my subjects get as comfortable as possible.Because if they are not comfortable it will definitely show in the picture.

So those are some significant tips you can do to help your hired photographer capture great photos.As you can see perfect looking photos are not absolutely up to the photographer.  What you do to prepare yourself can make a big difference.

Lighting Tips For Photography

Published by under General

Professional Photography requires a few skills to make your prints look professional.  One part of making a print professional is lighting.  Lighting and posing require great skills and understanding of a few techniques.  You best subject or object might not turn out that way if the proper light does not help to laminate the area. Below are a few tips on using light for photography.

First you must decide if you will use artificial or sunlight.  If you are using sunlight you will rely on the Kelvin scale to determine the temperature of light and therefore the color of light.  The temperature of your light is important to maintaining the colors you see around you.  For instance the warmer the light the redder the light will be, thus you may need to pick the time you will go out and shoot photographs. Outdoor lighting offers so many different times to take pictures depending on your need.

Next a photographer needs to understand the sun’s color scale.  Pictures tend to lead the viewer towards certain feelings; often softer colors evoke more emotion.  So understanding the suns impact on the colors will help you find the correct time of day.  The sun casts blue lights in the mid-morning hours, while closer to noon you will find more neutral colors.  The neutral colors can take away some of the definition you want in your print.  Knowing how you want to shot the picture will also help you determine when you wish to take the shot.

When using natural light you will need to work with the angle and direction of the sunlight.  If the sunlight is broad and diffused you will have softer shadows while the more narrow the light is focused the more shadow you can create.  Often at noon when the sun is in mid arc you lose definition of the subject.  The subject could look grainy.  This is why shadow is used; the shadows can give you more quality to the print if used correctly. This adds to the beauty of your pictures.

You can also modify sunlight through certain techniques.  Modifying sunlight when taking portraits outdoors requires the use of a background.  You may wish for a breath taking landscape that will provide more composition to the photo.  You may need to block the sun if it interferes with you or your subject’s sight.  You might also bring in a white surface to fill the shadows.  Landscape photography requires less work than usually natural light for portraits.  In fact using natural sunlight for landscape photography without modifications can yield you a better photograph.

Nature photography uses nature to provide the light and shadows.  This is why you need to understand the light scale and temperature.  The exact time of the day is of utmost importrance of using sunlight.  To understand natural lighting you need to understand the affects the sun will have at certain times of the day.  For instance if you are in a a very dense forest the sunlight will have difficulty streaming in unless it is over head.  You will have natural shadows in the forest and remember you can move around your subject to find the best angle with the sun.

Photography is a passion that requires techniques and practice.  Lighting is a major part of photography, especially when you are using natural light.  Sunlight can bring plenty of shadows or take them away depending on the time of day.  Knowing your day time lighting conditions to take a photograph depends on the sun’s angle.  Photography is an interesting hobby and profession when practiced properly will give you plenty of prints for your home and others.

Whether you are a seasoned professional or a hobbyist photographer, you want to produce some exquisite pictures with the proper lighting. With this in mind, choose your lighting according to your needs and the needs of your subject or object. Your images will show off your passion when you use the best lighting situation.

However, this is a good way to get a cheap digicam if you are will to handle some of the inconvenience of being ready to store less photos.  Also, what you can always do is purchase more memory later when you're ready to save up some additional money.

Going high on resolution and lower on memory you'll be able to get a cheaper camera that may be more in accordance with your financial position limitations.  What is great about today is that plenty of stores will have these cameras out on show so you can really see, touch, and even take pictures with them to establish if it's the right camera for your wishes.  You may read some product reviews online to see what other consumers exactly like yourself think about their recent purchases to get a unprejudiced opinion of all of the varied brands and options out there.

“Birth and Life” of Glamour Images: Past and Future

Published by under General

As a prominent artistic school, Glamour Photography has been altered dramatically through the past years; knowledge of what happened to it earlier can give us the clue of what awaits glamour images in the future. After countless changes and transformations, numerous revolutions and much controversy, glamour photography became what we can see today.

Let us have a short walk through the past years of Glamour Photos and then venture forth to predict some of their future.

Early Years. Nobody really knows from where to begin the history of glamour photo genre. There are people who believe it can be traced back to "French postcard" that flooded Paris back in 1930's, whereas many prefer to think it originated from Victorian photography. A few people consider that glamour photography can be traced as far back as Baroque and Renaissance art. To put it simply, the question of origin of glamour photo is far from being answered. What I think is that the most likely period in which glamour photography was born is 1920's and 1930's, which were quite a vibrant time in terms of arts and culture. Also, it is from the first half of 20th century that the history of classic glamour photo can be traced.

Zenith of Glory and Later. After World War II, glamour images reached the apex of their glory, closely followed by controversy and outrage. Betty Grable conquered the hearts of the audience before the war started, and remained one of the prominent figures in glamour photo ever since; Marilyn Monroe brought even more recognition to glamour pictures by her famous appearance on Playboy's cover in 1953. Glamour pictures became more and more popular, as Pamela Green and others helped this young but prospective genre to become widely recognized.

Nowadays - Digital Fever. As time passed, beauty photography became colorful, frivolous, scandalous and much more ingenious. Dita von Teese and Hope Talmons gained young and ambitious competitors like Heidie Van Horne, Lucy Pinder, Bernie Dexter and others. Additionally, digital format started dominating in photographic arts. It improved technical side of the process and altogether simplified it beyond measure. Any amateur with a DSLR became a potential glamour photographer. Combined with World Wide Web, a real army of both gifted artists and usual dabblers emerged in the online world.

3D - What Does it Bring? At long last, 3D art hits the stage, offering computer graphics as an arguable alternative to photography. 3D modeling is an art as well, and a complex one, but it seems to be taking over the field of glamour images. However, it is my firm belief that no computer-rendered beauty can ever substitute for genuine model, real lighting and sincere artistry. If it is really a competition between old and new, I would like to remain on the side which has a beating heart, long hours of studio work and live relationship to it.

The future, however, is bright - despite everything, oil, film and digital live on and remain popular. 3D art undoubtedly deserves for its own niche and admirers. It is not technology that is behind each glamour picture – it’s the soul, the inspiration and the dedication: that of photographer and the model. No real photographer ever forgets this - and I'm sure that neither will you.
